BOTM Nº 3 Talkin with Sarah

all photographs belong to Sarah Harman of Sarah Loves

Sarah's blog caught my eye, not only because of the content, but the header! Yes, Sarah designed that beautiful illustration all on her own. Once you get past the beautiful header. Your amazed, not only by her beauty but her outfits and photography as well! Sarah's blog is lovely. You can tell she puts a lot of heart and thought into each and every post. I messaged Sarah asking if she would be willing to participate in my silly little interview. I thought it was a long shot. But once I opened my e-mail and saw that she replied I (fangirled) then opened it up... Here are the things that I learned about Sarah and her blog!

Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I'm a UK fashion and style blogger who works full time in digital media and tries to blog in my spare time. I am also a fashion illustrator when I have a moment to sit and draw. I love illustrating beauty looks on beautifully expressive faces. I am a huge horse fan girl which often comes out in my fashion and accessorizing. I try to ride as often as I can dreaming of the day I can own my own horses.

What is your style like?
It changes from season to season but generally its high street meets vintage. At the moment I'm really into keeping warm so I'm inspired by Scandinavian and Icelandic fashion.

Do you dress up specifically for your blog or do you just take photos of what you are wearing that day?
Generally I just take a photo of what I am wearing on that day but often I'll take off my coat to take the photos otherwise it would always just be of me in the same coat.

Who are your style/fashion icons and inspirations?
I don't really have any specifically... I would say I'm inspired by other bloggers, characters in movies, off duty models style (Abby Lee Kershaw has an amazing style of her own) and mostly just good style I spot in the street. I keep on meaning to take up street style photography as there is such amazing effortlessly cool street style in Brighton.

Where are you from?
The beautiful seaside city of Brighton which is located on the south coast of England.

What is the style and fashion like around where your from?
Very alternative, quirky and vintage inspired. Its very inspirational and we get some very wacky dressers.

What are some of your goals/dreams in fashion?
I would love to design and own my own online fashion store specializing in stylish horse riding gear.

Where do you get the inspiration to put into your posts?
Mostly from my surroundings. In Brighton it can very very wet and windy so it can be hard to be stylish when your hair is blowing all over your face and your skater skirt it flown up in the wind, although some people do manage it!

What inspired you to create your blog?
I was in my third year at uni at the time I started it but I didn't start getting into personal style posts until I had graduated. I guess time on my hands inspired me along with trying to promote my illustrations.

What do you love most about your blog?
I love tweaking it all the time. I enjoy creating new and exciting graphics for it whenever I can, coming up with new ideas for posts and my lovely readers. I also really enjoy meeting new bloggers and collaborating with people, its a great social tool running a blog.

Any Advice for new bloggers?

Try to blog at least once a week at the beginning and make sure this once a week post is as high quality as you can make it. One good post a week speaks a lot more than 7 poor ones. Write and blog about what you love and believe in too as passionate posts are what your readers will want to read.

It was such a pleasure getting to know you Sarah! I hope to keep and touch and hope to see your online store become a huge hit!
